Investing for the long term
Source-Connect’s Buy-In plan is the long-term investment, for people who know they’ll be using it for years. You pay more once; after that a small yearly Network Access fee, well below the subscription, keeps you connected, updated and supported. That makes it the lowest long-term cost of any way to buy — a room on the Studio tier is ahead inside a year and a half and pays about 40% of the subscription over five years, at today’s prices. How does billing work in the store?
Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly, or yearly at a lower effective rate on Source-Connect and the Source-Nexus Suite. Every subscription includes network access, software updates and support for as long as you’re on it, you can cancel any time, and every licence is managed from your Dashboard.
What are the three short-term licence tiers?
Short-term licences run for a fixed two days and come in three tiers — Talent, Studio and Facility — priced as a one-off booking instead of a subscription. Talent covers stereo connections for a single performer; Studio adds discrete I/O per contact, MIDI, remote transport sync and Auto-Restore; Facility adds conferenced connections, advanced network settings and surround/multichannel.
What’s the difference between the Buy-In plan and subscribing?
A subscription bills monthly, or yearly on the Talent tier, and includes Network Access, updates and support for as long as you’re on it. The Buy-In plan is a larger single payment for the licence followed by a lower yearly Network Access fee. Network Access is required to log in and connect on either plan; Buy-In simply makes each year cheaper, so it wins once you’ve been using Source-Connect for a while: about a year and a half on the Studio and Facility tiers, just over two years on Talent, at today’s prices.
